PAYMENT POLICY
There is no payment on the day of consultation. You will receive an account by email or regular mail, which can be paid by direct fund transfer or cheque.
You will then be sent a receipt which you can claim on through Medicare. Out-of-pocket expenses are about $15-$20.
QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR BILL
What billing will I receive?
​You will receive a copy of your bill, either by email (subject line is 'Account from Dr Pakula') or by regular mail. This will come within a few days to a week of the consultation.

Then what do I do?
You can pay either by direct fund transfer (details are at the bottom of the account) or by personal cheque.
How do I claim?
​I will email you a receipt (subject line 'Receipt from Dr Pakula- with thanks') which you can then present to Medicare. If you do not have email, I will mail you out a paper copy of the receipt.
​Will I be out of pocket? How much?
Generally for a 90 minute consultation in my home you will be charged $182 but you will be out of pocket around $12. For shorter consultations or where baby is not present, this will be less, and for home visits it will be more.
Can I claim from my private Health Fund (Eg Medibank)
No, as I am a doctor, the account is covered through Medicare.
